Offender Education jobs are real opportunities to transform lives; giving offenders the knowledge, self-esteem and confidence to thrive in the world of work and break the cycle of reoffending. Teaching small classes of motivated learners, Tutors and Lecturers have the chance to deliver a less rigid curriculum than within an FE College and where relevant, to take the lead on programme design. You will be given all the relevant training required to deal with the range of learning needs you might encounter and to allow you to take advantage of the impressive rate of career progression the sector offers.

About HMP Nottingham

Teaching at HMP NottinghamHMP Nottingham is a reception prison for prisoners sentenced or remanded in custody at Nottingham, Mansfield, Chesterfield and Derby courts. HMP Nottingham acts as a feeder prison for a number of other prisons across both the public and private estate. In the education department, we believe the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge will help our learners to end their offending behaviour.  We engage the hardest to reach learners and encourage them to take pride in their own education and self-development.  As a department, we endeavour to inspire learners to achieve.  This enthusiasm for learning and desire to help our learners has been reflected with the department receiving a grade 2 in a recent Ofsted inspection.
