22.20 hours per week, 0.52 FTE, Part time Permanent

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our talented and successful team. The successful candidate will have the drive and passion for science. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Science team at West Lancashire College, contributing to ensuring that excellent standards are reached and maintained for our learners.

You will work as a member of a team to maintain laboratories, and preparation rooms in line with current health and safety legislation and maintain safe working practices. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Course Leader and Programme Area Leader to maintain stocks of materials, equipment and resources.
  • Prepare, set up and distribute equipment and materials in preparation for learning sessions.
  • Help maintain security of materials, resources and equipment within all construction areas.
  • Liaise with teachers / assessors to produce, prepare, adapt and organise teaching and learning materials and resources.
  • Ensure general and regular maintenance of tooling and equipment as required.
  • Keep workshops and equipment in a clean and tidy state, ready for use.
  • Transport the necessary equipment and resources in a safe manner.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records as relevant to the post.
