GCSE History Teacher - Casual
Apollo - Based within East Durham College
Teacher of History GCSE (Hourly paid)
£25 per hour
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can teach Secondary (Key Stage 4) History.
The role is currently on an hourly paid basis, teaching one group of children supported by a team of teaching support in a self-contained small school.
You will be working with a dedicated and enthusiastic team who aim to maximise each child’s potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.
The Apollo academy is in the final year of a teach out and consists of a group of year 11 pupils.
The provision seeks to enthuse and motivate these young people by offering a mixed curriculum, combining vocational and academic subjects in a small setting.
Positive behaviour is rewarded and promoted throughout the provision. Learners are given clear boundaries to work within and negative behaviour is addressed appropriately and consistently. The underlying causes of any negative behaviours are carefully considered and steps are then taken to assist the young person to better manage these.
Early applications are encouraged due to the urgency of the vacancy. We aim to complete a comprehensive handover and induction as soon as appointment has been made, to prepare you for a smooth transition to teaching.
You will be qualified to teach KS4 History and ideally have recent experience of working with young people in a school setting.
You will be a strong communicator, willing to undertake additional training and able to work effectively as part of a small team.
To apply, please follow the job board application instructions to submit your CV. You will then be sent an email directing you to the College Careers Portal to complete your application.
