Novus are looking to recruit innovative and inspirational Tutors and Trainers to join the brand new education department at HMP Downview.

In order to give people a first hand experience of the prison, Novus are holding an Open Day for candidates who are keen to find out about the exciting opportunities a career within Offender Learning can offer. 

The Careers Event, which will be taking place on the 12th of April, is a fantastic opportunity to view the new, state of the art facilities at HMP Downview and engage with current Novus employees, who will be able to answer any questions you might have about current opportunities, or working within the sector more generally.

Attendees must choose between two time slots, 10am - 2pm or 3pm - 6pm. You may visit HMP Downview at any point in your chosen time slot, with staff available throughout.

About HMP&YOI Downview

HMP Downview is located in Sutton, Surrey. The prison has excellent public transport links and is close to the M25and M23. The prison is a closed women’s establishment and is due to reopen in 2016, after closing in 2014 for improvements to be made. The prison serves the London region.

With the rare opportunity for a completely fresh start and new, state of the art facilities, HMP Downview are looking for innovative, creative staff that are keen to put their own stamp on the Education Department and help Downview become a truly outstanding example of Offender Learning.

Education is voluntary for the 350 prisoners that will be housed within the prison.  We are looking to develop a high performing and successful Education Department working in a vibrant, challenging and rewarding environment. We will have a varied curriculum aspiring to excellence, including hair and beauty, property maintenance, business administration, business enterprise, catering, customer service, ICT, English, and Maths.  Be part of something exciting!
